Colleagues,

The Alamo Colleges’ Information Security Awareness Program provides the opportunity to better understand the importance of safe and secure computer practices. Because fraudulent e-mails can appear to be from a trusted source and often look authentic, a new e-mail feature will be implemented. This feature should serve as an alert that this email did not originate from within the Alamo Colleges which requires due caution before clicking on links and sharing confidential information.

Beginning Thursday, April 25th you will see a message applied to all emails that are sent to you from outside of Alamo Colleges’. The message reads as follows:

**THIS EMAIL IS FROM AN EXTERNAL SENDER OUTSIDE OF THE ALAMO COLLEGES.**
Be cautious before clicking links or opening attachments from unknown sources. Do not provide personal or confidential information.

Things to be aware of:

  • This is not a spam email. All email sent to you from outside of Alamo Colleges will contain this message.
  • This feature will not evaluate the email for a phishing attempt. Your careful review of the email content is encouraged.
  • Some software used by Alamo Colleges’ employees may render emails that include this message. If you have question or concern about the email please contact your local IT Help Desk or Central Support at

Team,

Sorry for the delay, I have been out sick. When Rick and I installed Go Print on the new server, we installed the latest version. I spoke with Rick this morning and it seems that there is a bug in the version we installed that causes Duplex pricing to be charged incorrectly. He is currently working with their development team to resolve the issue and will email when the patch is ready to be installed. I will keep you posted.
