Hello all –

Canvas SIS Imports are moving a tad bit slow.  They are being processed but at an extremely slow speed.  It has been reported to Canvas and I do not have an ETA at this moment. While this backlog is being consumed please hold off on running any syncs.   I’ll provide an update when the backlog is consumed or in the morning.

Thank you!

Dear Faculty,

Zoom Cloud Storage is a popular feature of Zoom and most of our faculty members recorded weekly classroom sessions during the spring semester. Beginning in Maymester and through the fall semester, all faculty will be expected to record all class sessions and make them available as a resource to students.  There are many advantages to recording class sessions, including making class session content available to students in remote time zones, providing students the ability to replay classroom lectures to review materials and enabling access to students experiencing connectivity or other technical difficulties during live sessions.  However, due to the popularity of the recording feature, we are close to reaching full cloud storage capacity and may soon face issues with storing Zoom recordings on the Cloud.

Please be assured, your Spring 2020 Zoom recordings of your classroom sessions will not be deleted.  However, after Spring 2020 finals, we ask each of you to review all your zoom recordings and utilize the following best practices to alternatively store and stream zoom recorded sessions:

  1. Download your zoom recordings to your local hard drive or upload to OneDrive, Alamo Colleges solution for cloud-based file storage. CLICK HERE
  2. Save Zoom recordings locally, upload and stream to your students using Media site, Alamo Colleges solution for video streaming. CLICK HERE
  3. Download and delete old recorded zoom recordings from Zoom shared cloud storage.CLICK HERE

For technical assistance, please contact our Help Line at (210) 486-0777 or email sac-helpdesk@alamo.edu.  IT Support staff are also available via Instructional Innovation Remote Support Center.

Thank you for your tremendous efforts this semester in helping our students succeed!
